All of the current systems for rapid prototyping require STL files.
At Crésilas we can print your projects into numeric models from CAD files , either provided directly by our customers, or generated by us from the customer's drawings and sketches.
Our Software: CATIA, UNIGRAPHICS, SOLIDWORKS, EUCLID.
You can also contact us to digitize an existing object for a duplication via Rapid Prototypingm or for reverse-engineering surfaces.
Crésilas is well equipped for the 3D Measurements by employing FARO series {{ GOLD }}. This device allows us to obtain the measurements taken from various points across the surfaces of any object.
The mandatory information to build a prototype: the 3D file.
• It is the definition of the object to build, and can be generated by all CAD softwares. It can be surface- or volume- defined.
• The 3D files (Catia, Euclid, etc..) must be translated into a particular format called STL, which transforms the object into many triangular facets with oriented normals.
• Any STL file passes through an interface which corrects the orentation of the normals and fills in the 'holes' between the triangular facets before moving onto the next step. This is a standard service Crésilas provides.
The STL format is mandatory for the manufacturing of a prototype. However, you may send a file in another language (Catia, Euclid, etc..) and our engineers will change the format of the files.
