This process is especially useful in the manufacturing of castings. There are two types of machines: Thermojet and SolidScape.
The SolidScape machine is the most precise machine in rapid prototyping. In particular it makes it possible to manufacture extremely fine and complex parts such as those used in jewellery manufacturing. Precision: +/-0.01mm.
From a 3D file, this process allows the manufacturing of wax prototypes without the use of tools.
The prototype can be used directly in the process known as "The Lost Wax Method" for obtaining parts to be made from aluminium, steel, titanium, super alloys, and the list goes on…
The maximum dimension of the parts: 250x190x200 mm
Characteristics of wax:
- Melting point: 85 – 95° C
- Temperature of softening: 70° C
- Volume shrinkage at 140° C at ambient temperature: 12.9 %
